Just a few short weeks after their sunlit maternity session, baby Sophie made her big debut—and I had the absolute honor of documenting her very first week at home. As a Chicago newborn photographer, these in-home sessions are some of my absolute favorites. There’s just something so special about capturing a family settling into their new rhythm, surrounded by all the love (and let’s be honest—coffee) that comes with life with a newborn.
Big sister Grace was already stepping into her new role like a total pro. She was sweet, gentle, and so proud—it melted me. She was eager to give tons of forehead kisses and is clearly already in love with her new baby sister. The photos of her peeking into the crib? I mean… 🥹.
The whole session was laid-back and full of those quiet, intimate moments that happen when you’re just being together at home. That’s the beauty of in-home newborn sessions—no need to pack a bag or leave the house. You get to stay in your space, your routine, your favorite sweatshirt if you want to. And as a Chicago newborn photographer, I get to capture all of that real-life sweetness that makes these early days so special.
